Peru Day

Students draw a picture of the alpaca in front of them.

Last Thursday, the students were lucky enough to have a whole day of fun Peru activities.  There were three activities for the students to participate in, one art activity in the art room, one cooking activity in the library and one scientific sketch of Bernie the alpaca.

In art we independently got to make a god's eye. We used paddle pop sticks and colourful string. Some people wanted a challenge so they used sticks from outside. Everyone had loads of fun, and hopefully we see our beautiful creations in the art exhibition.

In cooking we were put into groups. We received our own recipe page for a Peruvian dish for each group. All the students had a go of either cooking, cutting, or pouring to make the delicious food that was eaten for lunch.

With Mrs Pinn we got to go outside and visit the alpaca, Bernie. Our activity was to draw a scientific drawing. All the students had a chance to pat and give Bernie a hug.

All the students loved the day and really enjoyed the slideshow that Mrs Moore presented about her travels in Peru.
